Range finder for flat ground

Which range finder have you found to work best on flat ground/grass?
This is mainly for pest birds.
I have a Sig Kilo 2000 but fund that anything much over 50 yards is close but very difficult to range properly.

Honestly to set up a rack or range i just pull a tape . Harbor freight has a 320' reel yape cheap ($19) . Its funny i comented on a post that the picture of his 50y looked pretty off and he said his range finder said it was , anyway it was not looking 1/2 way between him the bench and what he said was 100 . More like a75 and 100 . Definitely not half way.

The Leica CRF 2400-R has done better than any other rangefinder I've had for this (ranging pigeons on open, flat ground out past 120m). I assume it has something to do with how broad the rangefinder beam is vs others. Still easy to mess up if you aim it fractionally wrong though.
