The Bald Eagle is a pretty opportunistic feeder, I won't say regal turkey vulture, but Benjamin Franklin didn't have a very high opinion of the bird when commenting on a National Symbol...Benjamin Franklin in a letter to his daughter:
For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly. You may have seen him perched on some dead Tree near the River, where, too lazy to fish for himself, he watches the Labour of the Fishing Hawk (Note: Osprey); and when that diligent Bird has at length taken a Fish, and is bearing it to his Nest for the Support of his Mate and young Ones, the Bald Eagle pursues him and takes it from him.
Ben always was a bit different not to mention pretty observant...
The Raven is quite possibly one of the most intelligent and resourceful birds on the planet. Its pretty amazing that the one in the video "realized the situation" as a feeding opportunity that fast. Life is tough in post Michigan winter springtime, ya gots ta take what you can get!
