Guys, latest vid of pest control on the golf course.

Pelletpinger good shooting. I have a question. When watching some of the rabbits i could see a blinking flash before the shot. I assume thats a rangefinder. If this is correct how can you see the readout? What rangefinder is it? Some of those shots seemed far and it is hard to range critters in the dark by eye. Thanks for the video. Very cool.

Yes you spotted the blink of the rangefinder, it’s one of the scope mounted ones that attaches to the picatinny on the side of the Impact, when I’m down on the shot I ping the rabbit using the rat tail and then just glance to the side to see the distance on the display before taking the shot.

The lazer is invisible to the naked eye but it’s visble through the NV scope so when I see a rabbit I hit the rat tail to activate the lazer and then hold it over him then hit the rat tail again to lock the distance.

Plenty about from U.K. sellers but you may have to buy from China, they are all the same unit anyway, just make sure you buy the one with the adjustable mount as shown in the link.

Heres a YouTube link that explains it https://youtu.be/H-6DM_aLIRE

Have you thought about doing the “extreme” conversion. (For others who don’t know, you take the lens off and add photography lenses via an adaptor) cost me about $130. I did it to my 4.6x photon and use the 105mm f2.8 pentax, for about 10x. It really sharpened the vision but more importantly it brought me closer. I haven’t used it since getting a wg760, from china, addon nv but don’t think I will sell it till the new unit proves itself over time. I really like your setup, and nice job.

I remember reading about these rangfinders. Is yours accurate or lined up to range from close 15 yards to far say 100 yards? Also how accurate is it? I don’t need one but do know how important it is to range your targets so its nice to see one in action.

Yes I know about the extreme conversion but I also shoot rats at 15 to 25yds so the extra magnification would narrow my field of view right down so x6.5 is the best compromise.

Regarding the range finder, you don’t need to set them up, as long as you can see the lazer and you can hold it over the target that’s it, it’s accurate within a yard or two.

Gotcha, again, great job, and nice setup...stay after them...to keep them in check.

I use the 105mm for setup stations at 16 and 28 yards. I remember out and about with the old 4.6x and it was too narrow.

Thank you for the pictures and post!

Note: If you use a normal daytime scope and want to try an add on unit I really like the wg760 from china. I hate to press a new product on most my posts but I really enjoy it. My only gripe is it moved me back about 5” from scope so even a new “add on” butt pad had to be added.
