Rabbit Hunting Advice, please

When I get home from work around 11pm, I usually see rabbits around my property or my neighbors. Neither of us want them around and they are considered a pest, so I am free to dispose of them. I'm up to 5 so far this winter, but there are many more around. And with spring finally arriving, we all know they will soon multiply, and quickly.

Is there a "best" flashlight to use to see them? The traditional "white" light usually scares them off, although I have had some success. Is a red or green light better? Do rabbits see one or the other better or worse? I'd love a night vision/thermal scope, but $700 is a bit much for taking out a few pest rabbits. I'm not a "hunter", just pest control.

Thanks!

I'm not sure on your laws etc but in the UK I have a few massive rabbit permissions and I've found that white light is a bit too bright so use either red orange or blue filter lens covers on my lamps. The small deben led lamp is handy as it's cordless and press the button on them press again the led turns red. Also the f900 torch as it has red blue green and white led built in

ive found light itself doesnt scare them too much as long as its not swinging around, crack a door open or walk outside though and 'they' see 'you' .. so .. strategy .. ive popped more than one by keeping a gun in the car and just shooting them with the light of the cars lights .. if you have an outside access where you can get out and get set up to a strategic place with a full view and clear lines of fire ..then just light it up .. a floodlight would be ideal, flip it on and scan the area .. the idea again is to 'not' be walking around swinging a light .. you want to be stationary and hid unless you have a specific target area like a garden where they might be hanging out and you want to get in close and surprise one in the act lol ...

I’ve been using this night vision setup for the last two years. It’s cheap and effective.

I have a green laser on my LCS SK that is a very nice addition. That said, for scouting around, I have a Kohler Wheat Light (like a coal miner's light) I've been using for coon hunting since I was a teenager. Snap the red lens on it and I have no challenges. The Kohlers now are ridiculous, but Nite Lite still make a good one.
