Is it normal for the stock screws on the left side to be more inset or countersunk deeper than the right side ? It's a noticeable difference ...

I have a couple HWs that came from the factory with 2 washers under one screw to compensate for this very issue.

Ahh ok ..any reason for alarm ? Should I leave well enough alone? It's shooting just fine but I was worried I might have tightened past its tolerances .

Nah its just a cosmetic thing assuming the wood isn't super thin there. I would just match up the washer next time I was near a hardware store and give it that little extra shim to even it out.
