Beeman R9 Pellet Question

This is the heaviest 22 pellet I have. Can’t remember if I tried them in my R9/95. I do remember that it didn’t like pellets much heavier than my 14.3g CPHP’s. And no JSB’s that I tried.

Maybe I got bad thinking , but on a spring gun like hw i do think there's a comfortable weight range in no too light or heavy pellets ..

.177 I like to stay 7.9 -9 grain

.22 I don't go oner 16 so 14-16

Now a good gas ram probably 18 and a bit more . Depending on leade fit .. like avoided too snug or tight ones ..

Anyway wether true or not pellet choice can factor in spring / seal longevity / health . Of course all that is a individual opinion on any experience on best practices.

Springers like the 95 lose alot of energy with heavy pellets. The heavies better BC won't make up for the initial lost energy. Example my 95 makes 16.5 fpe with a 14.66gr FTT it only makes 12.5 with a Barracuda 18. Any ballistic advantage the 18 has will never make up for the lost 4 fpe out of the barrel. That's roughly a 25% loss.
