Starlings roost in the bottom of a large bridge near me. Many thousand birds roost there each night. Before heading to the roost they mostly all line up on an electric wire. The highway noise on the bridge muffles the sound of your shots. Starlings keep coming and coming. A fairly long shot up to the wire nearly straight up. The birds are silhouetted against the sky so you can see your pellet corkscrewing through the air currents as it hits or misses. A bit of luck involved but sometimes you make your own luck.
