R5 stock

I have a R5 that the finish on the stock has always showed marks. I think the finish was not quit right if any hard pressure is applied the finish turns cloudy. Not sure I explained it clearly. So I was thinking of re staining it. What stain has worked well on helping the wood pop. Other wise I may give to a blue and green tiger stripe.

I don’t know if I would “stain” it…I think I’d just prep it and give it a nice satin/matte clear coat. Lots of finish products at Midway and Brownells.

Hand rubbed tru oil really makes the wood pop. No sense in hiding that grain with a stain. Use real fine steel wool to smooth out the finish.
