How do you see the QYS performance for groups?

Speed & distance? Harder/softer compared to JSB, Crosman?

Good shot. As a lefty I'm not big on small bull pups but a nice 1-4, 1-6, or small red dot would be nice for mice/rats/Chipmunks @ >30 yards.

Heck those little critters move so often and fast I would love to see aftermarket iron sights.

Great shot.

Well Plink,

I'm not thrilled about damaged skirts either but the distance they travel from the JSB plant to dealer, to you; it's to be expected.

I've noticed way more bent skirts on the lighter weight JSB's. The heavy ones with thick skirts usually stand up to normal delivery.

To tell you the truth if JSB's were the old Black & Silver tins it would be worth it.

Lately I've seen 5.50 to 5.56 in ordering what's stated as 5.5mm.

As long as people keep buying them they're not going to upgrade the old molds.
Their reputation was built on MAGIC Black & Silver, Grey & Red tins.

I don't know about you guys but just knowing that they ARE available in 5.51mm to 5.55mm in Europe; but only 5.5mm in USA kinda makes me feel like we're being bent over the barrel.

In fact I know they're expensive but those new Crosman 19 grain pellets are about the best thing I've seen from Crosman in a long, long time.
They're absolutely amazing from a barrel that likes them.
A big variable is Crosman should really offer a pellet as similar to the JSB hardness/lead purity. I'd rather buy American if possible and affordable.

JSB is following Crosman's lead. All about the money and sales first. They proved it from the brown box Premiers in 177 Isn't money what makes the world go around in the corporate world? People will still buy them. Heck I still buy them knowing it! There s no other choice!

Aren't Bisley magnums H&N Baracudas? You should try Webley Accupel and Powapel. If They are still Crosman 7.9 domed and 7.9 pointed.

Yes JSB have definitely taken a dive.

I would rather spend my cash elsewhere (qys) funny you have mentioned crosman pellets, I had a sample pack through (7.9gr) no prems, crosman domed, my pulsar was producing tiny groups, very smooth in the mag entering the bore!

I purchased a tin but the wrong order turned up (crosman premier domed (tin) 10.5gr I think.. Not tried them? What is the actual difference from domed and Premier domed, anyone know?

James, 😊

yes, in Europe it's normal to get the choice of head diameters — that's what the manufacturer has produced them for.

🔶 However, for PyramydAir, AG-Depot, and some other vendors this is waaaay too much hassle to distinguish between head sizes — and even for the manufacturer it's much easier to just slap a generic white sticker on the back instead of an individualized sticker with head size and lot number. And he could fill pellets of any headsize into the cans, really, could he not...?

🙄 People! PLEASE! These stores are not there serve you. What you are asking for is not part of customer service!!

What?! 🤔 Wait?! 🙄 It is NOT??? — WHAT?!! I thought that was precisely what customer service entails.... 😕

🔶 But James, take heart. I contacted Predator International, the JSB representative in the US about this very issue. And received a very nice response that they — Predator International — will sell you the head size you are requesting.

🔶 And there is still another option open to those who like a particular head size — H&N:

H&N has several pellets that come in different head sizes — and apparently H&N has not made a deal with sellers to cookie-cutter their pellets ("one size fits all — i.e., must fit all"):

For example, in .22cal they have:

▪H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66gr: 5.53mm + 5.54 + 5.55

▪H&N Baracuda Match 21.14gr: 5.51mm + 5.52 + 5.53 (+ 5.50mm for the regular Baracuda)

Matthias 😊
