Quick question. R5m or wildcat?

Pre MK111 , I would have taken the R5m, now I would Wait to see the dust settle on the MK111, before parting with MY money.

Even if the third generation wild Cat has to come out shortly, I would certainly choose the R5M long in cal. 25. I have used it several times and I must say that it is beautiful, well made, powerful and very silent. But this is my opinion ...

The Wildcat not taking Polymags is a dealbreaker for me. FX needs to start lengthening their breeches.

Hades are hunting pellets in looks only. They have nil expansion. Might as well stick with domes. Polymags expand an amazing amount and are generally the most accurate of the expanding pellets. I've tried nearly all of them on game. Nothing expands, transfers energy, and creates a wound path like Polymags short of some hollow-point slugs.

I’d go with the MkIII Wildcat. Probably more accurate, and with the price difference you have enough left over for a good scope. Also you have more options with slugs since the Eddy tends to like only the light weight slugs in all calibers.

I have been a fan of the wildcat since they first arrived. Owned one in all the different cal and both MK 1 and 2's. When my friends and family have wanted to buy airguns and came to me for recommendations I've put them in my wildcats and replaced them. We have had zero troubles with them. Matter of fact they are the ONLY gun we have had no trouble with. One of the things I would check in making your decision is the weight. The wildcat is a light easy to carry and shoot gun. The R5m I have no experience with. The only thing about it is that those that do shoot it are as high on it as we are on the wildcat. I personally have been thinking of trying one in long 30 cal to compete in RMAC and EBR 100 yard. I've had just enough problems with my Impacts to not trust them. Your looking at two of the best. sylvan

Both are awesome airguns. You can't go wrong here. For me, slight nod goes to wildcat for capacity, easier adjustment.

Get the Edgun if there's any remote chance you might accidentally run it over with your SUV (or on purpose twice). Yo!

I agree. Just don't need to put air in it when the EDMU dies. Had 2 Wildcats and sold them. May buy the new one. Perfect balance of weight/power. Easy to carry, and good enough off the bench. Probably my favorite of all the FX's I've owned Had one in .25 and one in .30.

EdGun fan here- my money would go to the R5M, but without knowing the intended purpose, all I can say is that the EdGun is more robust and can shoot just about any pellet well. If you want to stick with slugs, the FX offers flexibility...
But even so, the EdGun would be my choice. As it is, I'm stacking my pennies for a Lelya 2.0.

I'm bias. I like Edguns a lot. But, that being said, I would still get an Edgun over a Wildcat.

If you are a lefty shooter it appears the Edgun will be best. I have no idea how you can adjust the cheek piece with the mag in there if you were lefty. I have an Fx Indy. .25 with ambidextrous stock but the cocking lever is on the right and can't be switched so your cheek never really gets to utilize the cheek piece. Not a huge deal but still a slight disadvantage.

I was just on [ another Forum shhh } and the guy in Europe had just ordered the left hand Wildcat in .177 take that with a grain of salt.
