Questions on using my sturdy Tripods for rifles.

I have a couple of great older tripods and I want to use one for my rifles;My question is how do I go about it.
I think I need a new head or pod and want to fit the BOG death-grip rifle mount to it.
It is a Manfrotto 3047. Thank you for your help

I use a large ballhead on mine with an Arca mount. My guns have Arca rails.

I have the BOG Deathgrip, I don't like the clamp mount, I don't trust it. I put a ball mount with an Arca clamp and love it.

Depends if your tripods have ball/pan mounts that except arca mounts, if not you will need to pick one up. I have had the bog one and didn't care for it, I know use one of these and it grips and holds perfectly and it's cheaper.

I re-purposed an old Bogen for PCP field use, like said above I purchased a large ball head like this one which is built for rifle shooting.

I have maybe over ten tripods (my main hobby was photography over four decades), heavy duty small or huge.
Ballheads I find not really suitable for shooting, more trust into levelling heads or gimbals. Also some of my CF tripods after trying I filled the legs with #9 leadshots.
