Question on Hawke Optics

Just curious is anyone has used a particular scope on something more than an air rifle.
I have received a replacement Hawke 3-9 illuminated Mildot AO scope. The original one I had began to get some weird shadowing after quite some time. Hawke said it wasn’t repairable so I got a replacement. The replacement got stuck on the boat parade off the west coast so I got something else. A FFP Mildot 4-16. More like what I am used to. So now I am happy with the set up on my AA s510c. Now what to do with the replacement? Has any one used them on something with more recoil? I have a few old bolt guns I can put it on-or should I just sell it off?

thanks

Anything in the Hawke Vantage line is only rated for springers 12 fpe and under. The etched glass versions with IR might hold up way longer and so far mine have but anyone's guess how long that will last. Regular firearms if it's a Vantage, it should be just fine.

Everything else can be used on and is rated for airgun use, especially the Airmax line, which was designed and built just for spring piston air rifles. I have 8, 7 of those mounted on springers, 2 of which are 5+ years old and still going.

Ok I forgot to mention that it is a vantage. Thanks for the reply’s. It’s reassuring. I could slap it on something sometime this week but I think I will post it up for sale on a local forum first. I have transitioned to 450 BM for our area-and I would rather clean out the safe of the older bolt guns and this scope. Also I have gotten used to 30mm and 34mm tubes optics.

thanks again for the help. Now I feel more reassured if I do decide to keep it.
