Question on FX Crown .25 MKII

I'm shooting JSB Knock Outs and JSB/FX Heavy pellets out of my Crown with the standard Superior liner. Pretty much shots on top of each other at 50 yards. Oddly, point of impact does not change when I switch between the pellets and slugs. I do have the harmonic tuner installed. As mentioned before, as long as you don't go heavier than 34 grains, you don't need the Superior Heavy liner. I tired shooting a few groups with NSA 33.5 grain slugs and got the same accuracy results but point of aim shifted about an inch.

The JSB knock outs were going all over the place. Do they need a higher regulator setting or something? I had to stop shooting them. Went back to pellets and was getting good accuracy.

With the .25 33.49 grain knockouts, my fps was measured at: 807 to 784 with a spread of 23 std. dev of 7.7 (800, 784, 807, 793, 793).

But I wasn't even hitting the target at 50 yards (was getting ricochets so I must have been hitting metal frame at range, so I stopped).

Went back to the pellets and was hitting target with accuracy.

Very strange.

Moderator was not damaged so it came through and out of the moderator pretty good.

I would say that’s a pretty slow speed for those heavy slugs. It probably means that the slugs were not stabilized. I never shot those particular slugs out of my Crown MK II, but I typically shot NSA 29.5 grain slugs at an average of 878 FPS and got excellent accuracy. Given the distance (50 Yards) your slugs have probably lost a fair bit of velocity and may be tumbling.

I use the normal superior lined barrels in .25 500mm shooting the JSB 33.95 pellets that are crazy accurate for me at 912fps and have no interest in slugs with the JSB 33.95 doing so well and heavy enough, hit crows with them and they go down with no moment dead and there cheaper that slugs and I get more shots for the money too.
