I have just got an aluminium mold from MP Mold. I blackened it with a cigarette lighter before use. Do I need to wash away the carbon coating after use and blacken it again the next time ?

You do not need to wash it. Just blacken it each time.
You need to have a look at sizing tools as well. There will be an optimal bullet diameter for your rifle.

I've always used a candle because in addition to the soot some vaporized paraffin or wax is deposited on the molds. The reason you do this is that it acts as a release agent for the pellet/bullet. You do not need to see a black coating on the molds, just a slight haze. Be sure not to plug up the fine engraved lines inside the face of the mold blocks as this lets the air escape to get well filled out pellets.

HI I would like to add a few things with virgin molds , here is what I do and I own both mp molds ,
scrub molds in warm water and dawn and dry
preheat oven to 350 cook molds 3 times for 45 min and allow to cool
preheat mold before casting , either dipping in lead a torch or hott plates
I use drop out aresol and spray my entire mold so nothing sticks ,
