Question for fancy rest users

Out of curiosity, those with the fancy rests which have clamps, how tight is the stock held in the rest ?

I don't always use - but have a Caldwell Precision rest that I really like! 
It's mostly used when doing tunes, repairs, or precision scope dialing..

It's clamp tension goes from minimal to GI-Joe Kung Fu Grip.
I'm overly protective of my rifles, so I never over-do tightening them down.. 
Just enough to get em' snug enough for no movement.

Most mechanical rests allow for free recoil so they have minimal resistance

On my Seb Neo rest, the gun lays in there just snug. I can lift the gun out of the front rest. I'm not sure, but I don't think the benchrest rules let you clamp a gun in without it being able to lift out.

ok, I can see daylight also.

So I guess its more of a cushioned drop fit and not squeeze tight.

NBRSA short range 100 200 300 but mostly 100 and 200 now

a few years ago they changed that rule, now Edgewood bags make a bag to drape over the stock, 

most stocks were triangular in the front end

my JTR was flat sided made by Robertson composites before their demise and used in 18 countries for the worlds



having said that light touching is ok as the gun can be lifted out under the old rules, the gun tracks straight back because of the sides as pictured 



also then there is no interference with ANY VIBRATION, no matter how small or inconsequential
