Hello all!
I am seriously considering a .22 cal unregulated Bantam or the old format Compatto (I like the 'older' stock shape). I'm leaning toward the Bantam due to the drastic difference in shot count, and to a lessor degree the much nicer and more rigid stock. The Bantam is wood with soft touch covering whereas the Compatto is plastic - but clearly not a deal breaker for me.
Finally, the question. I've heard and read contradicting info on shot counts relating to the power adjustment. Since 50% of my use would be rats and occasional squirrel within 25 yards, I would love to use the low setting (~20FPE), buy the compatto and therefore increase shot count (the 150cc cylinder and 20 shots is tough). Many have said the power setting has no effect on shot count, it's the same regardless of Low, Med, High. Others have claimed the shot count increases dramatically with the low setting. So, does the power setting have any affect on shot count?? I'd be curious to see shot strings on the low power setting if any one has them for the Compatto. Much thanks.
