Question for .5 or .45 big bore copper ammo

Got a link to big bore H&N copper rounds? The only ones I saw are 177 and 22, and these are copper wash, not metal jacket. Big difference in thickness and therefor big difference in amount of force to crush it into the rifling. That said, I have not tried anything like that, Benjamin strictly says do not use these in their Bulldog so I have not tried. I no longer have a larger bore so I can not test this, but was wondering if a 50 cal might just be able to handle the copper jacket.

In short NO!

The only copper bullet that is suitable for airguns is the Lehigh Defense: https://lehighdefense.com/gun-type/air-rifle.html

As you can see they are borerider and only the paperthin skirt engages the rifling.

The .45 bullet are wrongly labled as being .457" and not .45"

Using any type of copper bullet intended for powderburners will result in a stuck bullet and a lot of pain and work to get it out without damaging the barrel. Dont do it! Next thing is that Barnes bullets dont expand at all under 1600fps so there is that.

100% spot on correct as usual. I have never tried shooting sabot rounds but I don't think they are moa accurate to a hundred. Quality cast slugs will shoot just as good in air guns as conventional bullets perform in powder burners. My accurate molds 650 boat tail .510 has a b.c or around .5 not too bad. These noe 475grain hollow points and 460 grain noe solid cast have a b.c of around .250 .

The Lehigh defense within slugs are pretty awesome if your ranges are a 100 yards and under. 250 grain won't have much ballistic coffecent. From the videos of deer shot with the Lehigh defense its seems to be very game worthy😀

From all the videos of white tail deer shot with the .510 Lehigh defense rounds they accomplished what is needed for subsonic rounds. They shed there petals causing wound channel bleeding but the base penetrates throughout the opposing side actually giving you a blood trail. For the most part deer run from subsonic rounds and bleed out. Regular cast hollow points hit hard and expand great but don't exit thus leaving no blood trial. I love cast slugs and they shoot great but Lehigh defense with new cnc machines and technology do have a product that does work.

Thanks, I did not know about those Lehigh Defense rounds, those look good for places where lead ammo is banned.

Where is lead air gun ammo banned ?

CALIFORNIA has exempted lead AIR GUN ammo from their laws only powder burners lead bullets is banned.

Just wait, you know it is coming. Maybe I should have typed "when" not "where".
