EDgun Question: Edgun Leshiy 2 Magazines 30 cal Red 7.62 Ammo Compatibility

I bought these three genuine, beautiful red Edgun magazines abroad. They are ostensibly 30 cal / 7.62 mm. They are supposed to be for slugs I suppose, as there is an "s" engraved with the 7.62 (see pic). NSA slugs and Diablo Exact pellets fit perfectly in my other two Edgun magazines, which are all black. Neither of these fit in these spiffy red magazines -- ammo is too big for it.

Do you suppose these are ammo specific magazines? I will be selling all three, if they are. All three are brand new, unused. They were PRICEY.

Interesting . . .

@RobertNoPest, LIkewise. I don't have any .300 slugs, so I can't verify anything. I do have red mags that I suspect are slug magazines as well, but they are unmarked and might be older versions. They do not fit .303 Nielsen slugs. JSB Diabolos are also a very tight fit. JSB Hades do drop right in, however. Do you have any similar pellets that you can try?

I have quite a pellet collection, but most of them are other than .30 cal. Nice that airgun ammunition is cheap! My 45-70 ammo is about two bucks a round . . .

Likewise, I seem to have more .25 than .30 selection. I'll place an order when I get around to it.

45-70 cost more, but your shoulder keeps you in check.

Update: Received the (alleged) .300 slugs. I think they are actually .301.

They are a very snug fit in the magazines, nothing like the way the .303 NSA slugs fit in the black magazines. Those just glide in. These H&N slugs must be "coaxed" into the magazine holes. They do fit, but again, my perception is they are .301 and not .300 as described, and a sticker on the bottom of the tin has a code that includes the digits "301".

If you were me, would you try to shoot with them, or remove them from the magazines and try again? I a leaning toward the former.

I received my order of pellets/slugs from EDgun Shop. I can confirm the EDgun Knockout slugs, 50.15 gr, https://www.edgun.shop/collections/...kout-slugs-cal-30-7-62mm-weight-3-25g-50-15gr do not fit the slug mags. Zan 45.5 gr https://www.edgun.shop/collections/slugs/products/zan-projectiles-slugs-cal-300-7-62-mm fit perfect in the slug mags. They fall out of the standard mags. No accuracy test yet.
Thanks for the info. The H&Ns do "fit" in my slug magazines, it is just that I had to properly push them in with my thumb, and they fit VERY snugly. Still haven't shot the tight-fit pellets. Will report back on outcome of that.

Received the Zan 45.5 grain slugs, and they fit perfectly in the Edgun red slug mags for .30 cal. Thanks for the recommendation.

Another question (I will give it a Googl: How can 7.62/.30cal projectiles have that much variance in diameter? Is there an expectation that the charge behind the projectile will force it through the barrel, even if the slug or whatever is to large?

too, not to

typing is fun

I would simply put it as every manufacturer has their own build specifications. Same as with clothing, shoes, etc. Not all sizes fit the same.

In simple terms, lead is softer than steel. The projectile will go through the barrel, but if there is too much resistance, it's probably gonna affect your accuracy, velocity, etc, in a negative way.

I can also imagine barrel wear, if the fit is so snug. I come from a centerfire background, all the ammo just fit the chamber, and bang.
