Question about Hammer Spring Tension on the Priest (Prophet)

Yesterday I installed the new regulator and power plenum on my Priest2. I started with a low power tune. After installing the power plenum and with the regulator from factory at 150bar the JSB Kings were flying at around 920fps so I lowered the regulator to 100 bar and now the JSB Kings are flying at 850fps.

My question comes after I was trying to adjust the Hammer Spring Tension, I started tighten the screw and I noticed no increase in speed at all, and at certain point the speed start to drop and the gun was sounding weird, I knew I've reached the maximum, so I start backing up and to my surprise no variation on speed on the start travel of the screw. The speed was consistently around 850.

I think because the regulator is so low now, the hammer spring is already hitting hard enough that doesn't matter the little adjustments in tension I'm doing, it's going to hit hard enough that will open the valve all the way all the time.

Maybe the setup of my gun for 25 cal is not playing nice now with my low regulator pressure and I need to do something. I'm not sure if the part on the image below is a weight, or if that part is needed. If it is a weight I was thinking removing it and see if somehow I can reduce the power the hammer is hitting.

Anyone knows? Worst case scenario I can write to Mr. Rob and ask him!

Thanks in advance

I just found this video from Gregor, and at this specific time he is saying the 150bar regulator indeed is using a different spring and an additional weight and I think he is pointing to the part I highlighted on top, and for the 125 bar a different spring, no weight!

I'm just wondering, why the kits that are sold doesn't come with the appropriate spring? With my new setup with the lower plenum I'm basically using the low pressure regulator and that's the reason I don't see any difference while adjusting the hammer spring tension.

Vetmx, thanks for the quick response. I'm always amazed about RTI, I sent an email about this same topic and I already got the response from Mr. Rob, this is what he replied:

Dear Erlis,

You are right about everything.

I would say you have the stronger spring and the extra hammer weight (#27). You can try taking it out. If still won't help, you need a lighter spring.

So, as Gregor said, for .25 and .30 we give number #27 in the rifle and use stronger spring (and 150 bar).

With .22 we do not use #27 and lighter spring and 125 bar.

Best regards,
Mr. Rob

I went ahead and removed the weight and I was able to decrease the speed with the HST screw.

To keep the speed at 850 I increased the regulator a bit to 120bar or 1740psi.

905fps is what I was shooting before and I was getting a lot of pass through, even at 850 I'm still at 40fpe, plenty of power to knock down those iguanas.

My shot count should be greater than 100 now. So awesome!

You can’t completely convert a Priest into a Prophet. The Prophet has some internal changes that even my modified Priest is still a half step behind it. It’s not a big deal because you can only shoot a pellet so fast and the Priest does it easily. The exception is the .22 long range Prophet. You are going to have to lean on a Priest pretty hard to get that heavy .22 cal pellet moving like the Prophet does. The easiest way to close the gap between the Priest and Prophet is to use the Prophets barrels. They are longer than the Priests.
