QE Shrouded Barrel

I have a Hatsan BullBoss and I need some help with the Shrouded Barrel - I open the end of the barrel to clean it and the two caps fell out (#2948) this is the number on the Hatsan website for the shrouded Barrell. I would like to know what orientation to set them in. 1 end is open - the other end has a small hole - does the ends with the small hole go back to back?

In the schematic, #2948 is shown - but I don/t know what orientation to put them back inth. ere are 2 cylinders, they have a opening at one end and on the other end there is a small hole. How to line up the holes? © side with small hole. Ó side with large hole. Do I put both the small hole facing the end of the barrel?

[Why]

Usually the bigger open end faces the shooter when it comes to general airgun silencer design orientation (if it's a good one). I don't own a Bullboss.

 

[Why]

If you want it quieter glue round sticky felt circles inside and use a soldering iron to melt holes in the centers just a little larger than the pellet. You can even stick some small hair curlers cut to fit wrapped with felt or scotch brite pads lubed with oil then put them back into the QE gun only if you need it quieter than it is right now.

 

[Why]

A thin gauge wire spring roughly 2/3 the size of those baffles cut to size wrapped with scotch brite then with felt oil soaked would work too. You can make a spring yourself if you want for perfect fit PM for instructions if you have a blow torch or a gas stove.

Welcome to the forum, Discoduck! I pulled the innards out of my Bullboss just now, and mine have the large openings facing the buttstock end and the small opening facing the racoon, squirrel, or whatever you're shooting at. What caliber did you get? Mine is a 25, shoots very well and straight, and is tough as a tank.

James, thanks very much. I am a retired Air Force. My first time owning a Air Rifle, My is a 22 Cal. I just bought a Henry H001 Rifle. I am not too much of a gun person, but I am running out of things to do home, plus the squirrels are eating up my garden.
