When I was real young I remember us kids playing with a broken air rifle that the barrel would push straight in to cock it. I'm pretty sure it was a spring type air gun. Has anyone ever seen one of these or hear of them? I am just kind of curious to see a pic of one of these again.

Yeah, i've got an old Sears bb gun like that. Guess I've had it for about 60 years. Still works flawlessly.

55 years ago I remember a friend had a Crossman with a push in to cock barrel. We shot BBs out of it and hunted locust with it. It wasn't very accurate, and the front sites were prone to getting broken off because of the push barrel arrangement. Also sweaty hands rusted the end of the barrel pretty quickly;

Crosman made a replica of the M1 Carine that operated that way. There was another less fancy model as well.

They were made from 1966-1976, first 2 years had the wooden stock like mine above then they went to Croswood (plastic). Based on the model 350 which reflected its fps.
