Purpose built 100 meter .22 slug gun...

Ok... Am I barking up the wrong tree trying to build my FX Dream Tac Bottle Version with power plenum as a slug gun...??? I'm not so worried about shot count... I'm not comfortable with my FX Crown it doesn't fit me at all and is still basically new, I like more flexibility in stocks and grips etc... I want a purpose built 100 yard slug gun... I have my Green Laminate Crown, basically new, Should I build it up or sell it for something else instead...??? I'd rather maybe sell the crown and do something different to achieve my goal for my slug gun...

Any ideas for a slug gun...??? Or getting this Dream Tac to meet the task...???

Hmmm, funny you say that about the Crown, for me its the exact opposite... suppose thats why we have so many option as we all like different things.

My green laminate Crown fits me like a well used glove. When shouldering it, no neck/shoulder contortions needed, rifle just falls into place perfectly aligning eyebox immediately like no bullpup ever could. Its the most comfortable rifle I own, including all my powder burners...

blkbagger,

I've owned both. Both are very nice. Both will do the job. IMO, the MK1 or MK2 Crown(beefier valving, more power) will definitely out perform the Dreamline if you are looking for a 100 yard slug gun.

The Saber Tactical chassis should allow you to set your Crown up to fit your need. From 55 FPE with 700mm barrel and 580cc bottle:

All the way down to 7FPE with 320mm (Dreamline) barrel and 170cc tube:

The Dreamline has a less capable valve than other FX models, so it won't be the best choice for heavy slugs.

Oooh... I think I like your setup, I'll go with my Crown and sabre chassis system... Looks like I'm going to start a parts list for the conversion... Thank you for the photos too, nice to get a look at a real setup...
