I fixed mine by not using it. I threaded a sling swivel post into the wood instead. The insert is not seated far enough, resulting in a tiny bit of material projecting above the wood. That makes it an excercise in futility to get a solid mate between surfaces.
Thanks for the replies. I want to use a bi pod .I tried putting an additional 2 barrel screws through the rail and stock. Still a lot of side to side play. I'm thinking a longer rail, and using the barrel screws to mount.
Any additional info would be great before I start drilling more holes in my stock! Thanks again!
