Punch groups

Just did some testing with my impact 22 at 100yds. The tightest groups came from very fast shooting. Just wondering if it's a tuning issue or if fx guns just don't like time for the regulator to rest.
None of the above. You stayed within the condition. Chapter 2 in BENCHREST ABSOLUTES.

A very long time ago I was in Dwight Scott's basement as he completed a barrel he had done for me. While we were talking I mentioned the 7 minute time limit in Centerfire Benchrest group shooting. I don't even know how that came up, but Dwight heard me say 7 minutes and he stopped me right there. He then asked why I thought we had 7 minutes to shoot a group and I responded that 7 minutes was the time allowed. He then began speaking... kind of like E.F. Hutton.... when Dwight speaks "people listen".

He mentioned that 7 minutes was the time given from "Commence fire" to Cease fire". He then said that on any given day if you watch and time the conditions you will usually find a time that the conditions stay the same long enough to get 5 well aimed shots down range. The Idea he said was that you had 7 minutes to decide which 20 seconds you were going to fire your group down range.

I learned a lot with that barrel job.

Conditions or maybe you not over thinking about each shot when going slow. I find fast is with a clear mind, slow has you thinking about every little detail and causes room for error. Applies to about most things in life.
Happens to me too; more than 3 seconds aiming and I'm gunna miss🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
