Looking to add another rifle to the collection. Which is a better buy? Pulsar or bobcat? I'm not sure about the electronic system in the pulsar. How well do they hold up? Is it worth spending the extra cash on a pulsar? And does it come with a hugget moderator? I need some guidance.

I don't understand the Pulsar . . . I'm a Daystate fan but did they make the Pulsar that ugly on purpose? I don't know anything about the rifle other than it is really, really fugly. I know this isn't particularly helpful but had to get it out of my system.

I like the ideas behind the Pulsar ...but I am a hunter first and for most and I hunt hard and for that reason alone I would personally chose the Bobcat as it seams to be a more tried and true platform for the way I hunt ..just my 2 cents..lol and there Canadian pennies so there not worth very much in the exchange haha

I own both and they are both fine guns, a Pulsar Oro and a Bobcat MkII, both in .22 and both fitted with Huggett moderators. Personally I would choose the Pulsar over the Bobcat as I like the little details on the Pulsar, the beautiful wood stock, the magazine and how all the metal bits are finished. The Bobcat just doesn't have the fit and finish the Pulsar has. I also like the electronics on the Pulsar, not being able to double feed a pellet and the vibrations it does when the magazine is empty. They are both equal as far as accuracy goes and the Pulsar is a bit quieter than the Bobcat when they are both using their Huggetts.
I know the Pulsar is about $800.00 more than the Bobcat but for me it was worth the extra money, I even paid the extra $500.00 to get the limited Oro series model. As for the reliability of electronic guns, keep in mind the Pulsar comes with a 3 year warranty which is 2 years longer than what FX gives.
As for those who think the Pulsar is ugly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I too thought after just seeing pictures of the gun that it was.....odd looking. But once I had it in my hands I quickly changed my mind. I now think the Pulsar is a beautiful piece of artwork.

I have a Pulsar and up until a few days ago I would have complimented the electronics. However I have just discovered a glitch on mine; if the trigger is pulled a second time immediately after the gun is fired- nothing happens, good so far.
But wait 10 minutes and try again and this time it will fire!

My does the same thing if it goes into sleep mode then I turn it back on. It will fire even if the side lever isn't cocked. Not a big deal as far as I'm concerned.

Don't have either, but own Daystate MK4 purchased from Precision Air Guns. Point of this is they have a used Pulsar, would save you some money over buying new. http://www.precisionairgunsandsupplies.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=89

That is a good deal. The only negative is Daystate only warranties their guns to the original purchaser. I also own a Mk4 which is a fine gun itself.

here is my final answer get both and what ever one you like the best keep and send the other to me tee hee ...I cant afford either so I wont complain there both amazing guns and I would love to own either of them!

The Bobcat feels really nice to shoulder even though weighing 8 lbs. I believe the Pulsar is even heavier. IMO the Pulsar is very cool but a large price tag and more components that could go wrong. Only see a few complaints on the Pulsar and none of them say it's too heavy. If you can swing it get both. Pulsar may be coming out in .25 caliber.

I have a AirWolf MCT. I also own an FX Bobcat. Both are fine Airguns, but in my opinion the FX is a Cadilac and the DayState is a Bently. At least with the DayState brand you get what you pay for. After 3 years the electronics are precise and flawless.

Get yourself an FX Boss .30 (I'm assuming that you already have several .177 or .22 rifles). You can add a Huggett if you think that you really need it (try it first).
You'll never regret the amazing power and accuracy of the Boss! It's in a different league altogether and since quiet is a concern to you it also has that base covered stock.
Now suddenly you can shoot pigs and coyotes! (And win the Extreme Benchrest competition even in breezy conditions).

Between the pulsar and the bobcat, I think I would chose the Cricket,
No kidding take a very close look, its a well proven gun with a very strong following, and back up...

I like both of these rifles but the fit/finish on the Daystate looks second to none, I also like the electronics, I reckon that is what that $600 premium is getting you.
The FX is a nice piece but if price is not a issue I would go with the Daystate.
