My most satisfactory pull-through has been the one I made from backing line, a pellet and a reduced diameter slug, stored in a breath mint container.
A significant problem, for me, has been avoiding tangling while in use and in storage.
I drop the slug down the barrel from the muzzle end, use the slug to pull the line until the doubled section is out of the breech, place a folded patch between the doubled line section, then pull the patch out of the muzzle.
The space required is minimal in my range box, tangling is not an issue, patches can be pulled in either direction, etc.
