Pull the Trigger on an Impact X .30, Next Steps?

Did a deal overnight with another member for a .30 with a 700mm barrel! I plan to hit the ground running - here's what I'm looking at:

  • New gauges - I already have a new 28mm Huma ready to go, I'll get another one in 23mm soon
  • High capacity mag kit - This seems more like a nice to have to me vs a must have. Longer term goals would be shooting slugs, undecided on caliber - might keep this stock
  • Scope - I got this covered
  • Bi-pod rail extension? I've heard the Impact is a little unstable without one - I have a bunch of Picatinny / Weaver parts laying around, any thoughts on how long a rail extension would need to be? (I think the one I have is 4-5" long)

What else would you consider as must have / must do modifications? I'm not a picky shooter (I can shoot anything and not complain as long as the platform delivers).

I know a guy that makes this bipod mounting solution https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/picatinny-clamp-for-480cc-carbon-fiber-bottles/page/2/#post-419476

I hear he has a lot of happy customers.

Ha, clever man! That's a good (re)use of space, measurably lighter than solid aluminum too I bet.

Weighs 1oz

That's a win over what I have laying around. Every ounce (or lack thereof) counts in my pack..
