Protect FX walnut stock from sweat?

Sorry to be gross, but it's hot, humid, and impossible to NOT sweat while out shooting. The walnut stock on my Royale seems dry and the cheek piece is right in the drip zone!

What have people used to protect your stocks?

Sweat stains just add to the patina and give it character.

I've used Birchwood-Casey gunstock wax, but it depends on the manufacturer's finish. Always test an inconspicuous spot first.

Interesting idea. I had not considered one of those. Given the structure of the stock, I would actually be concerned about it adhering to the stock... I am pretty sure I will go with some sort of wood oil or wax to seal it up a bit.

If I am just target shoot for the bench, I just put a towel over the stock. Hunting......I don't worry about it.

I used some 4-way stretch Multicam material to cover the stock. It wasn't for the reason cited by the OP, but it serves the same purpose.

If the stock is dry it needs to be re oiled. I dont know what FX uses but boiled linseed oil or tongue oil would work.

Boiled Linseed Oil is the best for walnut stocks that have an oil finish, which is most European guns.
I retreat all my guns annually with this. Just wipe on, let sit for 20 minutes, and wipe off.
