RTI Prophet 2.1 .177 shooting slugs-to polish barrel or not

I am just starting down the .177 slug rabbit hole. I took the first shots today. The 10.3gr Knockouts went 1050 fps with the reg at 125 bar. The 13gr Zans went 954fps with the reg at 125 bar. I upped the reg to 140 bar and the 13gr Zans went 1005fps. The 16gr Zans went 927fps with the reg at 140bar.

I can get 5 shots into 1/2" but I am only shooting at 25yds to start, so nothing OMG accurate. It seems to me others are getting better velocity at lower reg settings. Would a barrel polishing be a good idea? Any help would be appreciated.

I'd rather see you try a couple different calibers.. like if you were using 22 caliber..I use 217.. but if you are not happy with it then if it was 22 caliber I'd try 216,2165,2175 etc..sorry I'm not familiar with the sizes available in 177 so I gave the examples in my caliber..
now I don't know what barrel you have.. pellets do better with a choke, slugs will work with both but are much better without a choke..
because of everything I have read, I personally would never polish a barrel.. too many people ruin them.. and basically you are going to remove more rifling than land.. so it's basically in my opinion like shooting a firearm thousands of rounds.. and at some point your barrel is just shot out..
just my stupid 2 cents.
