Projectile Grains vs Animal Weight

So a 200 pound deer is 3200 oz. If my math is right that is 14000000 Grains, a 150 grain bullet , goes into that about 93 thousand times.

A 1.5 pound squirrel weighs 24 oz, or 10500 grains, a 16 grain pellet , would go into that 656 times. So if we kept grains equal we would use a 2000 grain bullet for deer????

I know this does not consider velocity, ft pounds of energy. But looks like we are very heavy gunned ( grain wise) on a squirrel.. Just saying , not trying to prove anything. Just thinking out loud, LOL.

Also not sure my math is even correct, never was good at math. Someone can check these numbers, Heck a 150 grain bullet can kill a 600 pound elk.

However, slower but larger pellets will dump much more energy into the target and do far more damage. Have not had a single squirrel run off on me even with a bad shot with .25 hades at 600fps. I still get some pass through but the damage is devastating, they always rip gaping holes into the squirrels. Must try it because squirrels are tough little critters, had them run off with .22 couple of times when my shots were a little off.
