Professional Indoor Chronograph

Simply put - I'm looking for another indoor chrono, with emphasis on reliable results for shooting into a pellet trap. Not interested in Caldwells, I also own an EDgun chrono that I can't get working too well with anything but my Leshiy, and my Lab Radar needs 10m of free space minimum to work. My FX chrono is also temperamental indoors.

I'd like to keep the costs under $1K, but if there's something that works let me know 🤘
 
Appreciate the feedback. I can't do any more of the Caldwells. Both of the ones I had were inaccurate and they had that cheap mass production feel to them.

Ordered an Air Chrony MK3. It looks like it might be pretty decent.. if not then I don't know what I'm going to do next. I just hope the quality matches what they used for TÜV testing, but I know the Czech's are better than average with QC 👍

Looks like you have already tried the better part of the available chronographs on the market and found each to have a specific weakness. Perfection is most often a hard thing to find. I have had a Shooting Chrony, Beta model, for ten or twelve years now. It's not the latest or greatest but is inexpensive old tech for sure. Many say is touchy with lighting but I find it easy to keep properly lit with a couple of inexpensive flashlights indoors and so long as I keep the direct sunlight off of the sensors it werqs perfect outside as well. The 9V battery lasts for a year or so even though I use it often. I like the fact that the unit breaks down, folds up and fits into my shooting bag so easily. It was a pain to use though until I figured out and adhered to the lighting requirements the unit had. Thought about the Lab Radar and the FX units but the FX gobbles up the batteries and as you have noticed the Lab Radar takes a bit of space to get it to werq properly. Since the Beta Chrony has werqed so well for so many years I have not even bothered to replace it.

I have used a Pact professional chronograph for about 25 years with no problems. It's set up approx. a foot or so in front of the end of the barrel, wired in to 110 so just flip the switch on and no worry about batteries plus the main unit is right beside me at arms reach so I can easily review the shot string etc. All of this I have set up on the same steel table as the sand bag rest and tripod. Oehler used to be another top brand but I have never owned one so I can't give any advice one way or another. Both of these companies are in Texas.

I received this little Air Chrono MK3 today. Appears to be a well made little unit and easy to setup. Ran 3 10 shots mags over it and it appears to be bang on. It didn't miss any of the shots and did not produce anything that looked sketchy.

All I need now is for it to keep doing like it's doing and I'll be a happy camper! 😆

Glad to hear it. I've been thinking about getting one of those, too.

So far so good! The display processor is a tad bit slow. The opening is also smaller than I had in my mind that it would be... both are non-issues. In fact, the smaller opening is probably going to cut down on alignment issues with the smaller amount of real estate. 

I'd say that if you're looking for a stationary unit, this one is an absolute win 👍

Behaviors such below are prohibited by certifying organization and treated as illegal. TUV SUD certyficate, it means without certyficate, and tested - without declared parrameters. Try contact to the TUV organization, if you have doubt ( illegal use of TUV SUD for marketing purpose ). Yeah, it's this company in the world with empty certyficate.

I have been using a Competition Electronics prochrono DLX along with their light kit. I've had great success with it shooting in my basement. My basement is pretty dark and with the light kit it reads every time. They also have a great app that you can save strings and enter string information. One of my co-workers here also has used the Magnetospeed and it has proven to be very reliable for him.
