Prod threaded adapter

Boombots I would not recommend using an adapter on either the Prods or the Mrods, they can already have problems with an attached LDC because of the shroud sitting on rubber o-rings. By adding an adapter you will increase the chances of having clipping problems, you are better off getting an LDC that screws directly into the shroud, you will not eliminate the possibility of clipping but it will be reduced, Neil.

I've been working on one for me,and this is what it looks like so far .
Notice that there's a missing thread on one end,which goes into the barrel shroud .
This one is made of aluminum,but I'm playing with the idea of making another one with delrin .
We are back to 10 hours shift again at work,so I don't have the time to finish it .
Maybe some day .LOL
i have a donny du carbon fiber ldc that is super light ,but ,keep in mind what Neil Clague is saying about the ldc pushing down the shroud and clipping it though .

I was told to grab a piece of round steel and drill and tap 1/2-20 on the end,then,attach the adapter to it (with the same 1/2-20 thread of course),put it in the lathe and put a thread to the other end (11/16-24)
Does that make sense ?
Imagine something like the last picture I've posted ,but,instead of the LDC ,I would use a round piece of steel .
That way everything would be in alignment .
Let me know if you think that it would work .
Anyways,I'm not going to do it anytime soon .

Rami I would stick with aluminum for the adapter, I do not like Delrin when it comes to something like an adapter or a part that is threaded. Aluminum is very easy to work and is stronger than Delrin. I make my LDC's for Marauders the same way, chucked in a Marauder shroud to be sure that the threads are true, you could also make a mock shroud, which is what I do for my other LDC's that go on shrouded guns. Rami just cut the Prod threads and shorten them to the correct size for the gun, then screw the part into the shroud and chuck it on your lathe wrapped in a single piece of paper. Then cut the half inch threads, it is pretty simple, not worth sending me the part, If I had a Prod shroud here I would have just done it for you, it is very simple to do, Neil.
