Problem with vulcan 2 Tactic 30 Cal Regulator.

The regulator of the Vulcan 2 Tactic .30 Cal I bought 2 years ago is not regulating the shots anymore.

It was giving me 19 consistent shots at about 80 foot pounds, but now is giving 9 shots and consuming a lot of air.

I have seen in Youtube some videos of how to take the regulator out of the air cylinder of the rifle. But I do not have any idea of what to do once it will be out.

Is there something I could try in order to make to the regulator to work properly again or should I just buy a new one in the market (a Huma regulator maybe)?

I really would appreciate your advice!

Fill it to 300 bar and run it over the chrony post first 30 shot chrony numbers.

Let me share with you the advance on this topic.

I ordered from Huma the regulator for the Vulcan Tactic 2 .30 Cal. I asked to be sent at 160 bar.

I changed the regulator and the numbers I obtained were really similar at the ones with the original regulator. Not good!

Then I reduced the tension on the spring of the hammer in order to shoot the JSB's 44.75 grain at 826 fps. (About 69 foot pounds).

Now, filling at 250 bar, I am getting 35 regulated shots and 37 shots hit the same spot at 70 yards. With less recoil.

69 foot pounds are enough for coyote and Jabalina with the proper head shot placement.

I am satisfied with the result: many shots per fill and enough power for the caliber of the rifle.

Regards.
