Primary Arms 4-14 needed 20 clicks today

I've been messing with my son's inexpensive Crosman break barrel and shot it at my home made "know your limits" targets today with disappointing results. I managed a couple 3/4 inch 5 shot groups at 25 yards with it testing pellets but the trigger pull is terrible and I was struggling with it today. I will probably put a "charlie the tuna" trigger in it for him.

But to convince myself I could still shoot OK I took my P35 in 25 caliber out of the coffee table and shot at the same targets at the same 25 yard distance. This rifle wears a PA FFP 4-14 scope that I really like. I had not shot this gun in several months. I was surprised to miss the 2 inch swinger until I started aiming 2 mil dots high. It was shooting really low. I had to adjust it up about 20 clicks to re-zero it. All the screws on the mount are tight. The windage was fine, needed no adjustment.

Do all scopes do this occasionally? I noticed my West Hunter 4-16 did it once but have not noticed any of my other scopes displaying this bad behavior. Humidity is lower as is temperature from the last time I shot this gun but I wouldn't think that would change the zero of the scope.

Jim,
My Benjamin Trail NP XL and Crosman F4 Nitro both suffered with that Crosman trigger. Watched several YouTube videos, then purchased a two-pack of Traxxas 5114 5x8 Bearings MR85-2RS by TRBRC for a few dollars from Amazon. (These model racing car wheel bearings are the ones used to modify the Crosman trigger in some videos.) After completing the simple modification and losing the "lawyer" spring, both triggers are much improved. The Charlie Tuna triggers are great, but you can accomplish same goal for much less. My suspicion on the 20 clicks to re-zero the P35 would be due to some trauma to scope or gun during storage. Sometimes a click or two is needed to re-zero a scope but 20 clicks only if I've dropped the gun or bumped into something. WM
