Pretty good News

I got some really good news this morning. Back in August I wanted a Crown and just couldn't find anyone that had one for sale. So I finally decided to put a deposit down on a Gray laminate .25 cal, and wait the MONTHS, yeah I said months not weeks, before FX would fill the current orders. I was told January would be the nearest I could expect the FX delivery. Bummer.
This morning as I waited in the doctor's office, my phone rang. The caller said "Hello, this is Darren from AoA. Your Crown is here!" I almost flipped out of the chair :)
So.... they are giving her the once over and installing an Atlas rail for my bi-pod and she should be in the mail on Friday. That means that by next Friday, she should be arriving in the big brown toy truck. Sweetness!!!

Also, if you have put a deposit on a Crown with AoA, yours may be here and you just don't know it yet. :)

"Centercut"Great news! You’ll have the Crown before you get the WC back?

I asked them to check on the WC and he said he would go look it up and get back to me. Well, that didn't happen. I mean, I totally get that EBR wrecked them and that there are probably still guns taken in that they haven't fixed. But you know how it gets when you spend a lot of money on your hobby and then you have to wait for someone else before you can enjoy it. It has been 3 weeks now if you include shipping time. I'm not ready to jump up and down yet. But the truth of your statement sort of amazes me.

Crusher,
i got the same call today advising my Crown 25 in walnut was in. I had the same reaction since I was expecting end of December.
I was unaware of that they would install the Atlas Rail, What model Atlas did you choose? Darren asked if I needed anything but
i didn’t think to ask about installing the rail. What scope are you going with? Seems like Christmas is coming early this year for me.
Look forward to seeing pics of your new Gray Laminate Crown.

If I remember correctly it is the BT10 rail. I think the rail is $25 and then $30 to install. Since mine is laminate, I didn't want to take the chance of screwing it up. So the little extra money to install is worth it to me.

As for the scope, I picked up another Hawke Sidewinder SR Pro. 8-32x50. Really like the reticle and the clear glass on this scope. It is a little heavy but I don't plan on toting it through the woods anyway.

And yes it does feel a bit like Christmas :) And congrats on your new Crown as well.

You talking about the Aztec Emerald? Looks like a nice scope. but I would have to hold one and look through it before I could buy one. No matter what all the fluff the maker puts out, I never trust it. I'm a hands on kind of guy.
But I have heard a lot of people say that it is a really great scope. Hope I get to see someone with an Aztec mounted so I can get it the once over.
