Presslug support and discussions

I know one of the Questions asked earlier what is the diameter of the breached bits, it's 1.45mm

Definitely looking much better.

It’s good you can make your own dies! I have a little cnc saddle for my mini-lathe I use to make mine. Very time consuming to set up but it works for me.

I suppose the 1.45mm should be fine, I don’t have any factory swage dies to compare to. Mine are 0.040” and that seems to work fine for me.

As for the tumbled ones shooting better, it may be that the flash is gone. Just a guess though.

I like the corbin swage lube. I recommend it. I put a little bit on a wrag that I wipe down the lead wire with before cutting, doesn't take much. I've found the biggest difference in slug quality (i have a corbin s press setup) is from the lead itself. It can oxidize and corrode and this makes inferior slugs with the rough surface and Grey appearance. I've gotten new lead from NSA that was partially corroded from the start. Always store it wrapped up in plastic, and dry. Don't use lead with antimony, only pure for swaging.

Corbins lead has been better quality consistently. They ask more for it than NSA lead, but agreed to price match for me after all the money I've spent on dies and the press etc. I only had a problem with some of the smaller diameter NSA lead, their wider stuff was OK. Just my experience. Corbin quit selling lead in spools and now does rods about 2.5' ish long

I hear you. Fortunately, the press is well-made and of great overall quality. As for the punch and dies, the new crown setup makes it easy and cheaper to get replacement dies made if you have access to the right equipment. Fortunately, I have access to a tool and die machine shop and will be making my own dies. To get back to the product, I have now contacted them twice via email with no response. It's a pity, as this is a really well-made press and could be so much more.
Hi, I wrote back to you, I don't know if the mail arrived in spam. How much wire weight are you using for the final slug? You really only need to use two extra grains. Also, there is a difference in the hardness of the lead.

Regarding the higher calibers, we have those in stock, and are currently sending them to our airforce partners.

Yes, lubrication is important.

Thank you, Jan, for getting back to my email. It says a lot when a manufacturer takes the time to respond and work with the user to resolve an issue.
