Premium/white label JSBs (Daystate, AA, FX, etc)

In a nutshell, JSB decides to make production run. They bring out the dies and set up eight machines. Different ages of machines and dies, as well as other manufacturing factors cause pellet sizes and weights to vary slightly. To address this JSB mixes an assortment of pellets from various machines in each tin. During that same run, JSB decides all pellets from a selected machine, let's say Machine #6, will be FX brand. It's not that Machine #6 is special to FX, JSB could have chosen Machine #4, just that the many variables from different machines and dies that vary pellet size/weight are greatly reduced and FX pellet consistency is improved. WM, THANKS for the explanation. Makes total sense for consistency!
You're welcome, Sir. Explains why members who size and weigh pellets from a JSB tin always seem to find a wide variety. Also, explains frustrated members who purchased pellets from Classifieds only to find overweight/oversize and underweight/undersize pellets in the tin, the seller having conveniently removed all the "in-spec" ones for personal use. Borders on a scam, IMO, unless specifically stated up front, what had been done. WM
