Pre orders

Last time I pre-ordered from PA my card was not hit until I got the e-mail that the order was in progress. I have been checking for the last 2 or 3 weeks now and there is no pre order available (JSB .22 18,13).

I did order some of the H&N Baracuda 18's and got them yesterday. I have never shot these but they look like they came out of the same mold as the JSB's The only noticeable difference I see is that the skirt depth on the JSB is about .022" deeper . Will try them if it ever stops raining.

I just poked around a bit on PA to see what might be up and clicked on the JSB 18.13gr. No Pre-Order option, just a clickable link to be notified when they're back in stock, so the same thing Trenier is doing. Click link, enter email addy, click submit, wait for your email to say yep they're in and hope you get there fast enough.

I didn't see anything about tin limits so that might be something that shows up in the cart since I know at one point, PA at least had an 8 tin limit on anything you tried to order.

PA charged my card the day after I placed my order. I’ve been waiting for a month and say order still hasn’t shipped. I don’t know what people are talking about saying they don’t charge until your order is preparing to ship. I’ve ordered from them quite a bit. Be sure to check your order invoice against your card statement. Sometimes the invoice grand total and what you’re charged don’t match. In the event that this occurs it can usually be remedied via phone.

Did they tell you the item was on backorder? Didn't think they accepted pre-orders.

Yes, a few items are still on back order, but others are in stock. They will give you the option to split your order if you ask. This will likely generate two separate shipping fees. They accept pre-orders if you see a pre-order tab unless they recently stopped doing so. On pellets they will place an 8 tin limit on orders.

I’m on the phone with them now. The customer service representative explained that your card is charged almost immediately when you order via PayPal. However, this is NOT the case when you order using your credit card through the site. PayPal is beneficial if you don’t want your card charged a month or two later after you’ve forgotten about placing order. Paying via PayPal is like essentially prepaying for you order on PA. I hope this clears up any confusion I may have caused.

I just don't understand why people would choose to pre order pellets when by just doing a simple internet search you can find places that have plenty of pellets in stock.

Because right now it just isn't that easy. I've done pre-orders with PA on JSB 18s, JSB 15s and some .25 JSBs as well. Always charged when they ship.

I think the guys out there with the Eastern European guns, Taipan, Uragan, Crickets, etc with be very happy with the H&N 18s. The buck the wind better for me than JSB 18s in airguns that shoot them well. It's a different alloy mixture than JSB. The H&Ns are a bit harder so might have a bit more tin or antimony.
