Prairie Dog hunt

Anyone here traveled to Wyoming to shoot prairie dogs? I live in Idaho and am contemplating a trip to Wyoming to air gun for PD’s.
Any advice on an area would be great. Also looking for some feedback on how your trip was.
When I was very young my dad used to take me there for antelope which served as a great cover for a week long PD shoot with powder burners. I had a ton of fun shooting the PD’s.

I have never been to Wyoming to shoot PD but I been to Kansas. It’s a absolute blast. I shot 1800 rounds of .22 RDs. I personally would not shoot slugs at PD unless they were 23 grain slugs. For as much as we shot the cost would of been so dang high if you were shooting say hybrids or something. I would make sure you have enough air with either a compressor or large tank, or both. When we went we would park and walk to a spot and set up. So having a pony tank of some kind is awesome. You don’t want to get to shooting and then have to get up to air up. Most of the shots we would take were from 10 yards to 200 yards. Most of them being in the 50 to 150 yard range. Practice in wind!! It was blowing 20-30 miles a hour most of the time.

Hi @Chukar60 If you go East of Evanston and travel go north of I-80 there should plenty of PDs, 4x4 only terrain.
Thanks for the tip!! When my dad took me we were very near a town called Midwest there seemed to be a lot of private ground there.
As for the 4x4, that is all we own. Been in Idaho 62+ years and have driven a 4X4 of some sort since I was 18. One of those rednecks that can’t live without it.
