I sent my .22 Cricket pup off to Derrick in Texas a few weeks ago , so he could work his magic on it and get it to where it would shoot the JSB Redesigned Monster 25 gr at a decent speed.Got it back yesterday, and.....Wow, first groups at 55 yds were amazing.
I haven't ran it across chrony here in NC yet but he had them slinging the 25 gr at 885 fps in Texas.
Derrick was nice enough to send me about 40 of the redesigned 25 gr monsters since my pellet order won't be here until this Saturday.
I slapped the scope on her and zeroed her in at my usual 28 yds with the 18 gr. Figured since I had her dialed in I would shoot a 5 shot group at my burn barrel out at 55 yds with the 18 gr just for giggles. The pellet dents above each group are my point of aim. You can see the drop of both groups and how much further the 25 gr group drops on the right.
Holy pellet dust...... the first four 18 gr pellets went in the same frikkin' hole with the fifth one rising a pellet width above the group. I had no idea the 18 gr would shoot that well at that speed? They had to be going 980 fps if the 25 gr are at 885?
Then I loaded the mag with the 25 gr and first 3 shots went in same hole with 4th and 5th rising a hair. And this is at 55 yds.
18 gr on left ...25 gr on right. Dent above each group for POA
So I decided to try my luck at 100 yds. Got a 1.37" five shot group and a 1.2" five shot group before I ran out of the 25 grain. The 18 grain won't hold a candle to them at 100 yds, but shoot great inside 55 yds?
If I can get a calm day when my pellets come in, I'll keep shooting for the ever elusive 1" group at 100! Need to get her across the Chrony too.
Measured with digital calipers at 1.2" CTC
