Power Adjuster on Air Arms S400-SL

I own an Air Arms S400-SL with a power adjuster knob. Is there a way to either lock the knob in place or make it more difficult to turn? I've moved the knob when wiping the barrel or in transport.

If you take the stock off you will find a small allen screw directly under the power adjuster. You can tighten it up just enough so it keeps the wheel from moving. Just don't over tighten because it can cant the power adjuster sideways and allow blowby past the small o rings.

On mine I just tightened the set screw until I felt a little resistance when I turned the wheel and it hasn't moved on me since. It use to move on it's own slightly with each shot.

Another option is the loosen the breech, pull the power wheel out and put an extra oring(same size as the two already there) all the way against the knob the reinstall. It will add enough resistance to keep the wheel in place, and you wont have to worry about over tightening the set screw.

If I remember correctly you don't have to loosen the breech screws. You do have to remove the locating pin for the wheel. A grub screw is located ahead of and slight to the outside of the group of six screws holding the action to the hammer/valve body. With the gun upside down one side will have three screw holes, the other four. the fourth one is the grub screw that holds the locating pin for the power wheel. remove that, and there is a small spring, and even smaller pin that will come out. Go slow or you will spend the good part of a day, or two trying to find the spring, and maybe even the pin. Once removed pull out the power adjuster. There is a pin on the inside of the wheel, when you put the adjuster back in be sure to slot that pin properly.
