No rifling. That's assuring.
I've been looking at some of the Hatsans but horror stories like these are keeping me away. I'm not aware as to wear Hatsans are made, imported through, sold by exclusively, etc. So, I am not about to buy one and get a lemon. I really wanted a Hercules in .177 & .22 for those new 15-29 grain .177 slugs & all types of .22's from Diabolos to .22 cup/dish base slugs. I can't seem to find specs on Hatsan barrels or get answers here. Also, I must say that I find the AGN search function to be lacking, or not very "user friendly."
I recall a post on a Hatsan for sale from a well respected experienced member. He stated he had upgraded all Hatsan screws with actual Grade 8. He'd stated that Hatsan uses junk screws. I believe they are made in Turkey. Not that Turkey can't produce a good air gun, but no rifling? How does a barrel make it through QC, (do they even have a QC?) assembly, line, or barrel factory without all it needs to actually be called a barrel?
