Hi, I'm very pleased you enjoy the green lizard hunting in PR. The realty is they are destroying great part of agriculture here, specially if the farm is near water. They seem unstoppable and when there are some ways to use airgun hunters to control the lizards. Here the Department of Recursos Naturales,(natural resources dept) have regulation and hunting law, declaring that iguanas as exotic species in here CAN BE TRAPPED OR TAKED BY HAND, ridiculous, everybody knows they bite and hit with theirs tails. By no means, it can be "hunted" without a write permit of the Dept Secretary and seal. So, locally a bunch of airgun hunters have a great deal to hunt iguanas.
I just wondered, with the great exposure of Hatsan, NRA etc.. promoting the hunting in PR, how do you obtain the permits of the Secretary of Natural Resources to hunt with airguns? As far I know, only the department officials can hunt the iguanas if you call the dept.
Anyway, the point I try to explain is, here are law and regulation about hunting and it includes airgun too, not merely you buy an airrifle some pellets and go hunting iguanas, I you do, an being catched you could be fined. I think with the problem these lizard present to economics, it should be an ammentment to law to permit without a permit to hunt iguanas free with airguns. Thank you friends and keep reporting the way you do. Cheers from Puerto Rico.
