Postal Service Woes, Lost Barrel

I live in a small rural town and the for profit shipping carriers want nothing to do with serving us, we need USPS. If anybody expects that millions of people can be shipping things every day without occasional mishaps they are delusional.

I must have horrible luck with the USPS. The last three shipments by the USPS were either late, lost or both at the same time. I had one package sit in my local USPS for a week while the "supervisor" assured me DHL was wrong and they did not have my package. Lo and behold, eight days later, my package was magically located at the same location where it had sat for seven days.

There does not seem to be any accountability built into the system and the system seems to reward the USPS for any service level, good or bad.

The only thing that I can recommend is that every time someone has an issue with the USPS is to file a complaint with the Inspector General.

If I performed at the same level as the USPS I would no longer be employed.

True but some shippers have more mishaps than others. Experiences vary depending on multiple factors. Probably very few mishaps with a service center that has very few packages relative to a major hub.

My brother lives 12 miles from Eugene, OR. It is a battle to ship anything there commercial without paying the exorbitant extra cost options. 2-3 day delays are common. Scheduled to arrive between X and Y and shows up 3 days later.

Ship it USPS it shows up in a reasonable amount of time.

Update:
Fox Air Power reached out to me today, via email. Since no progress has been made with USPS in finding the lost barrel, they are going to get another one. No telling how long it will take to get it from AEA though.
Still got to hand it to Fox Air for doing everything possible to stand behind their warranty and get the gun right. They truely want me to be satisfied with it, and enjoy it as if it was their own personal gun. The process hasn't been fast but they have demonstrated real concern every step of the way.
That's good Customer Service.

USPS is terrible. I ordered some orings. Delivery day tracking said undelivered as there was no access to delivery location (whatever)…..go out and lo and behold it’s actually there. To this day the tracking info says not delivered. I could be a 🐓 and claim I never received it but I don’t do that.

IMHO I believe companies have become to reliant on computers and automation. Sure it's labor saving when dealing with mass volumes of things, but it enables people to not think for themselves. Basically if the computer says then it has to be true. Have an issue with a pharmacy limiting quaintly in refills, say it's an insurance issue. Insurance has contacted them 3 time, but they still insist the computer is right. I gave up.
Anyway when Fox Air gets me another barrel it will sent UPS. I'm also the type person if the lost one eventually arrives and i windup with 2 barrel I'll contact them and offer one back. Of course I'd keep the better one if there's any difference, but they've treated well and really why would I need 2 barrels.

USPS is the worst.
