Umarex M1A1 Follower Wear: The part that pushes the BBs up, the follower, is also subject to increased wear and tear with the rapid cycling in full auto mode. These issues may exist with the other UMAREX auto Legends BB guns e.g. MP40 and M3a1 Grease gun co2 BB guns.
Are there known magazine issues when using full auto?
Yes, there are some known magazine issues that can arise when using full auto with the Umarex M1A1 BB gun, or airsoft guns in general, due to the increased stress placed on the magazine's internal components:
I. Feeding Issues
(a) BBs not feeding smoothly: The increased rate of fire in full auto can sometimes lead to BBs getting jammed or not feeding consistently. This can be caused by problems with the magazine's spring, follower, or even alignment with the follower also demonstrates troubleshooting and potential fixes for feeding issues related to the magazine.
(b) Worn Feed Lips: The rapid action of full auto can exert extra pressure on the magazine's feed lips (white metal), potentially leading to deformation.
(c) Sear deforming the top bolt: This cause is from the steel sear contact with the White Metal or Pot Metal) bolt. The bolt (entire top of the M1A1) which is made of White Metal and is soft.
II. Magazine Durability and Components
(a) Spring Fatigue: The spring within the magazine, responsible for pushing the BBs upwards, can fatigue more quickly with constant full-auto firing, leading to weaker feeding and potential failures.
(b) Stuck Magazines: In some cases, a BB or component might become dislodged and cause the magazine to get stuck in the gun, especially when using full auto and handling the gun carelessly.
