Poor cold-weather FX Royale regulator performance

Well this is a bit disappointing:

Temp = 16f
Pellets = JSB 18.1
3 magazines (36 shots)
Starting pressure = 197 bar (all my tank had left)
Ending pressure = 152 bar
High = 900 fps
Low = 865 fps
Av = 88f fps
ES = 35 fps
SD = 10
Hammer Spring = 2.5 turn out

I should also mention that I'm on my 2nd fx regulator on this royale. I know cold temps will affect air pressure and performance, but I did not think it would be this extreme. Does anyone else have chrony data done at cold temps? And yes, as time permits I will try to do some indoor chrony testing to see if the regulator performance returns to normal. Typically it fall off the regulator around 140-ish bar.

Hmmm, yes you must test indoors.

Is it really cold in your area? I don't shoot much in the cold (still acclimating after more than a decade in Hawaii) but one thing that jumped into my head is o-rings. I could be wrong, but I believe a traditional regulator utilizes a few o-rings, and in extreme cold weather those rubber o-rings may become less pliable or shrink? Just a thought

I have (wika aftermarket) in my Fx impact that is set at 120 bar.

Temperatures here in Colorado have drop to -2 or -3 F. I have notice my regulator gauge when indoors it will be 120 to 125, but if I go out side and take a shoot, then next regulated pressure rises to 135-140 bar.

Guess it also has to do with air temperature remember that hot air expands and cold air shirks... also Michel has a point about the o-rings.

Any way just for you to know that you are not the only one experiencing those deviations with cold weather....
