Poof! Pigeon Feathers ...... ~25 yards with a PCP Pistol

Link above is around 25 yards with my PCP Benjamin Marauder PCP .22 cal pistol. Another pigeon bites the dust. I was at just a tad hold under. Camera: Casio High Speed Exilim Ex-zr1000 set at 240 FPS. Camera scope mount: Orion 5338 SteadyPix Deluxe Camera Mount.

Great shooting! May I ask why you chose the .22 cal instead of the .25 cal. Nice shot again and I don't mean to change the subject.

I do not think this PCP pistol is available in a .25 version, only .177 and .22. I chose the .22 b/c I had a lot of .22 pellets laying around. Just wanted something small and compact that shot well at short distance. Also, the pigeon indeed flew off after impact as can be seen in the video but didn't get far. After about 3 seconds it dropped like a rock.

Isn't that a dove? Hard to tell in the video but I think it is a Eurasian collared dove but it may be another species not sure where you live. Those things might as well be pigeons where I am from they are everywhere and cause trouble with farmers but they do have a season in some states might want to check it out. Good shooting with a pistol.

Looks like a morning dove to me. You might want to check your states hunting laws because many states have season for them and won't let you shoot them with an air rifle.

Oh yeah you are right that is a mourning dove just looks really big I the video for some reason.
