Polymags: Squirrel vs Backstop

Hi

i haven’t used polymags and have a Wildcat .25 MK2, I had a question about using polymags, I understand they expand on impact day hitting a squirrel or whatever, so they are good for that purpose, but when they hit say my backstop, would they be more destructive like when they hit a squirrel or less destructive than the lead .25 pellet as hitting a surface it’s not purpose made for?

Im not sure of your question exactly so hopefully this is what you want. The predator pellets wont do anymore damage than a regular domed pellet to your backstop. They will still mushroom but not destroy anything in my experience. I used to shoot them a lot in high power 22 and 25 cal. No worries.

I would think they would exhibit hollowpoint characteristics and mushroom more on impact with less penetration compared to normal domed pelles and it looks like you are doing some rather expensive plinking... 10 cents a pop!!! I would save those polymags for critter hitters...

thanks. Yeh I won’t be using them for target practice, these would be for vermin I’m just thinking of ‘in the event of a miss’ that they don’t penetrate the backstop more than a regular pellet, and if they could even have less impact then even more suitable for my situation backyard!
