I cannot advise on the newer models, but I have quite a variety of experience with the older FX Liner models. I can tell you all of mine have had issues with poi shifts after handling them. I do not bench rest my rifles after initial sight in and ammo testing, they are used exclusively for pesting. Because of that they get leaned up against trees, and truck tailgates etc, and I grab them by the barrel on occasion. I am aware of the shifting so I try to be as gentle as I can, but I have had poi shifting still pop up when it mattered most. To solve this I have added the CF Sleeve to every liner, and I have added some kind of shroud tension and my poi shifting has effectively disappeared. In my opinion the cause is simply the flimsy barrel assembly is weak enough to take a set when too much pressure or force is applied. This can happen just by leaning a heavy Impact up against a tree, or picking it up by the barrel vertically out of your safe.
If I were to buy something like a DRS, I dont expect to have the same issues. You can still install a CF Sleeve, which I probably would. It is not as simple or easy on the pressurized shroud models but possible on at least some of them. And I dont see very many people here complain about poi shifting on the newer models, so anecdotally it seems to not be a problem.
To be fair, many FX owners never experience poi shifting and will say it doesnt happen. There are a sizeable number of us that certainly have had issues, and in my estimate it comes down to the particular rifle and particular user.
