Changing temp rapidly is giving 3 moa shift in elevation at 30yards. Is it normal? Do not see such a noticeable difference in slightly higher $$ glass.
Does not sound right to me. I shoot in 100+ degrees F to 18 degrees F and never noticed a shift that big. I do notice a small shift maybe a few 10ths, but 3 MOA is huge.
Seems excessive to me too, noticed during a new springer break-in and tested it twice (an hour at 74f ambient then go outdoors to 99f and after 15-20 minutes poi goes up. Re-installed scope without shims, will test it out again tomorrow (off course I did not chrono so cannot rule out velocity yet!).
